I have been running the Demented Militia since it's conception in December 2007 and I have decided to step down and let Phillip take over. He is the new owner and is not only a good guy and player ... he is my best friend. I have no question about his loyalty and he will do very well in this capacity. I have known him for almost 5 years and there is no question that he can do as good a job or better than I can. I will still be around to answer questions and make graphics (avatars) for whoever needs them. I will act as an adviser or mentor if needed. I am not removing myself from the Demented Militia ... just passing the torch.
Reasons:
1. Phillip (INFECTION) is much more suited to handle the politics or human interaction than I am. In my old age I have become intolerant and grouchy. There is a huge gap between the ages of most of the players and mine. I have kids older than most of you. I don't seem to "fit in" as well as I should.
2. I will be receiving treatment for a potentially fatal disease over a 6 month period or longer and it is equal to chemotherapy. I will not be functioning normally, so I will not be as active as I was lately. I am not trying for pity or sympathy ... I just thought that you deserved an explanation. I have a 50-50 chance of survival and if I want to see 65+ ... I have to try this treatment.
3. I have no doubts that the Admins and Captains of the Demented Militia will serve the members well and treat them fairly ... I just hope that the structure and rules of gaming stay intact, but that is for the members to decide now.
